Why Property? Minimize
There are 3 main reasons why investing in property makes sound financial sense:
  • Tax benefits such as claims for interest, expenses and depreciation decreases the amount of tax paid on your income and increases the amount of money in your pocket,
  • Capital growth otherwise known as an increase in value – many property investors use this increase in value called equity as a deposit on their next investment property increasing their portfolio, and,
  • Immediate income in most cases via rental return versus return coming upon sale of your investment (in the case of shares) or at the end of the investment term (in the case of a term deposit).

There are also many other reasons why people choose to invest in property such as its tangibility, a wonderful place to bring up your family, the comfort of owning your own home, higher degree of stability, or simply their interest in the residential property market.

Studies undertaken by Residex comparing the risk versus return of common investments over a period of 10 years (1997 to 2007) shows that well located residential property provides a lower risk and higher return than other common investment vehicles.
